Gtalk Connectivity issues

Anyone else having problems signing into Gtalk? I've been trying to
sign in all day. Keeps saying can't connect to server.

None here. The really weird thing is Beezy IM'ed me as i read this .... very strange?

Typically after flashing any ROM i cant sign into Gtalk until my google account has synced REALLY well (read, synced once on its own, then i force sync). I usually wait 5 minutes before i try after a fresh flash then it will work. Tried a reboot?

I just flashed Baked. Snacks 1.8 and i can sign in. I would try a reboot like he said. Good luck.

Maybe it has to do with all those spam emails Jerzy has been sending out!!!! The finally caught him and suspended his account! J/K

Which leads into my next point, have you validated that your gmail account is in good standing?

Lol I got away with it for a while...

It should be ok. No reason for it not to be. I'm still getting emails, just made an app purchase. As a matter of fact I was able to chat on the web browser with no problems. It's only Gtalk that's messing with me. I tried rebooting and even cleared cache and dalvik cache for extra measure and nothing.

It worked. I realized that even though I didn't flash a rom, I did do a nand restore. So I did a force sync, gave it a few minutes and I'm good to go =D thanks!


Now I can go back to sending spam lol

I get that message all the time but have no idea why it happens.

It seems like forcing Gmail to sync again solves the problem. It's worked for me like 5 times already lol

I posted this in another forum---just trying to get a consensus. Ever since the latest update i have been having difficulty signing into Gtalk--whether its on 4G or 3G---Wi-i connects just fine.
Anybody else---or is it just me?

Posted in the other thread as well, I have random connecting issues regularly. Probably at the point where it only works on the first try one out of four tries.

If I leave it, sometimes I'll pick it up an hour later and it's connected, but usually I just shut it down.

I have found no correlation for times when it won't connect. WiFi, 3G, 4G, morning, noon, or night; at home, at work, at the store; it doesn't matter. It still has trouble. Perhaps another app is conflicting on the phone?

I'm having issues too. Gtalk works fine and connects right away if I use eBuddy, but the Gtalk app itself has problems connecting. Seems like the problem is most typical when switching from wifi to 3g/4g and vice versa. It takes a bunch of tries to connect and isn't as solid of a connection as it should be.

Its sometimes a hit or miss, like its not working for me right now.

Watch for talk issues randomly.

Yeah Gtalk acts weird on my Evo too. Seems like it would work flawlessly on a Google device like it did on my BB. Sometimes it won't let me sign in, even with a perfect wifi or 3g connection. Other bugs too like showing I am 'offline' on other friends phones when I am actively using Gtalk on mine.

This has been happening to me for the past week or so. Switching from 3g to 4g is a pretty reliable way to get me kicked off, and being in a poor reception area doesn't help either. This isn't so surprising, but it used to sign back on without a problem. Restarting the phone sometimes takes care of the problem, but not always. Resyncing Gmail didn't work either. Anyone have any idea why this is happening?
