My Method..
I have notice a number of users asking for a method to restore to a Stock MR1 state after installing the Leak build of 2.11.605.0 GB RUU after rooting with Revolution exploit and there wasn’t any informational post to get a user back to a stock state or for insurance return..
This process isnt as simple as just flashing the PG05IMG_Mecha_VERIZON_WWE_1.66.605.2_Radio_1.39.00.0510w_NV_8k_1.41_9k_1.64_release_191132_signed like some believe because unrooted older RUU can not be installed over newer builds without being rooting. also this appears to not restore the device to a S-On state to be able to return the device to a stock state to return for warranty and Revolution has no unroot process as of this day.
The Bootloader will still have the Revolution bootloader with the S-Off status and the method used to restore the stock bootloader with MR2 patch sometimes can not override the loader because it is a newer build and used a different exploit method, so when this is attempted it simply skips the installation process and ask to reboot the device.
Ok with all that said here is all that is needed and the steps to get you back to Stock from using 2.11.506.0 GB RUU rooted because unrooted a downgrade doesn’t appear possible at this time.
UNINSTALL HTC SYNC BEFORE PROCEEDING FEATURE.
1. Run Revolution - Revolutionary
(Remember to complete form for Beta Key).
2. Follow instructions exact (Its Painless)
The last step ask to install Revolution Recover (Allow this by saying YES), this will place a su_2.3.6.3_efgh_signed.zip on sd card root (If file doesnt show you can download it from http://goo-inside.me/superuser/su-2.3.6.3-efgh-signed.zip) and place file on sd card root..
After completing and getting S-Off access proceed to set #3
3. Power off device and then power into bootloader (Volume Down and Power until white bootloader screen)
• Select Bootloader / Recovey(Up and Down arrows to select and power to enter)
• Once in installation select Install zip for SD Card / choose zip from card/su_2.3.6.3_efgh_signed.zip
There should be a SuperUser (Skull icon) on the launcher menu to indicate rooted..
Once booted up completes, unlock your screen to enter the setup wizard.
• Hit Next > Skip > Skip Setup > Next > Next > Next > Finish
• Then hit the menu capacitive button > settings > applications > development > check USB debugging > then click Ok.
• Plug the Thunderbolt into your computer.
• Swipe down on notification panel.
• You will see "Charge Only: Select to change USB connection type" --> press it.
• Select “Disk Drive” and then click Done.
4.Rename to PG05IMG and Copy this PG05IMG_Mecha_VERIZON_WWE_1.66.605.2_Radio_1.39.00.0510w_NV_8k_1.41_9k_1.64_release_191132_signed.zip to SD Card root.
• Select Bootloader / Fastboot (Up and Down arrows to select and power to enter)
• Install zip and restart when prompted on device..
Once booted up completes, unlock your screen to enter the setup wizard.
• Hit Next > Skip > Skip Setup > Next > Next > Next > Finish
• Then hit the menu capacitive button > settings > applications > development > check USB debugging > then click Ok.
Plug the Thunderbolt into your computer.
• Swipe down on notification panel.
• You will see "Charge Only: Select to change USB connection type" --> press it.
• Select Charge Only and then click Done.
5. Download Auto Root MR1 Downgrade and Root Process downloaded from http://forums.androidcentral.com/th...unroot-windows-updated-5-20-w-mr1-update.html
6. Run the Auto Root MR1 Downgrade and Root Process downloaded from PC and follow instructions exactly.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Device is already rooted with Revolutionary but when you are prompted to "Start root after downgrade" you have to say YES to allow the installation to remove Revolutionary hboot and roll hboot back to stock.
7. After completing Auto Root MR1 Downgrade and Root Process and boot up completes, unlock your screen to enter the setup wizard.
• Hit Next > Skip > Skip Setup > Next > Next > Next > Finish
• Then hit the menu capacitive button > settings > applications > development > check USB debugging > then click Ok
If you just wanted to restore to stock state with rooted version of MR1 you are complete.. If you want to restore the stock with root disabled for sending in for insurance proceed to step 1b below..
1a. Download PG05IMG_MR1_no_hboot.zip from [HOWTO] Restore to stock for root users and non-root users UPDATED 5/17/2011 - xda-developers

• Press Up to start update
• Allow process to complete and wait for option to show “Boot Device”
• Press Power button to reboot
• ALL DONE
Now you should have a unrooted STOCK HTC Thunderbolt and ready for insurance claim….
If experiencing activation issues after this process you need to flash a Froyo radio and then phone will activate fine..
This is the method that worked for me and I hope it is helpful for others..
ALL INFORMATION IS FROM MEMORY SO IF ANY MISTAKES WAS MADE PM ME AND I WILL LOOK TO UPDATE..
