Where do i put the zip file so i can see once i try to install from zip on phone? i can't find it but see it when my USB is mounted

Two days of frustration and multiple attempts using 3 computers and buying root-android.org's service none of which got my evo 4g rooted. Then I found this thread and walked right through it with no problems. Thank you for my rooted phone!

I really hope someone is still checking this thread.

How long is the recovery boot supposed to take? I've been going through the steps, everything was working just fine, until the recovery boot. Now I just have a black screen. I can get back to the hboot screen by holding the power and volume button for at least two minutes at a time, but I can't ever get to the screen others have described.

Cuz it's a great guide! I just got a evo 4g, is the info and download links in this guide up to date? Or is their a better method by now? Also I see people in this thread say bot to use cwm as recovery but rather ra based or something like that, does anyone have a link to download that?
And what about roms? Which do you recommend.
