TL;DR - The phone continuously loses service, usually it will still show up as connected but sometimes it will say emergency calls only, no service, or service disabled. I can make & receive calls on rare occasion. Service area is perfect. APN information entered. Virgin Mobile Canada.

Hello, I've been trying to stabalize this phone I bought off of Kijiji. Now, when I installed the sim I forgot to turn off the phone :(. Haha, I was
extremely tired & only when I removed the battery (of course) did I realize what had happened. Ever since the sim has been in, the signal
has been unstable every 5-10-15 to 30 minutes (this is without running POGO). By unstable, I mean both data & most importantly calls. I
won't be able to make or receive, when I place the call during these failures it will say dialing, connecting... and just continue until "call ended".
And when I"m called, outside of LTE just say we've forwarded your call to VM. On LTE, it will say something along the lines of this customer
sn't able to receive your call at the moment.

Troubleshooting Attempts:

- Tried SIM in a different phone & it worked perfectly
- Power Cycled Several times, Factory reset it 3 times
- Set up these 2 APN's (https://apn-canada.gishan.net/settings/933_2_virgin_mobile_apn_settings_for_lg_g4.php)
- ^ Tried both, both unstable, but PDA gives most stability
- I've registered to all available networks under GSM/HSPA/LTE all unstable
- Connected Automatically & Manually to GSM/HSPA/LTE together & separately. All unstable
- Phone is not in Air Plane mode

Model: LGH812

Software Version: H81220x

Now, I just recently found out about the app Network Signal Refresh Lite and in pokemon go I've transitioned to
5 minutes, 3 on average. It will still lose connection, but will usually reconnect in-app in moments. I do have to minimize
it & do a refresh again in NSRL every now and then but it's a big improvement. Before hand, when I would use go, the service
(calls included) would die in seconds.

Any ideas? Thanks.

I have this problem in the states. Verizon gave me the runaround. None of the signal refreshing apps work to restore signal after it is lost.
Only data connection is lost, not phone. Only way to get signal back is to power off & restart.
I'm in a marginal signal area. When I go to a strong signal area, no problem.
I didn't have this problem (when at home) for the first year. Could be a change in the signal from local tower..
I love my g4. Will live with it for a while.

Sorry to hear about you're problem, I've tried flashing every stock rom that can work with
the device and still the issue persists. I've even connected the micro sim to the full sim
adapter, put it in my old phone and it works perfectly (I'm currently using my old phone
for the needed stability).

Any ideas? Is there a baseband fixing software, some sort of reset I can do. This
is a beautiful phone, but if it can't handle the essentials than it's gotta go.
