My local Best Buy will not be getting the s20 in until tomorrow morning for display I talked in depth with the Samsung rep who had time to play around with it for quite a bit and he's quite impressed

He's getting paid to be impressed.I would choose more objective sources.

I will only say this. If you are like me and reading phone forums. There's a 99% chance you know more then the person you were talking to about phones. I hate going to a ATT store or best buy just to look for myself and sales rep tries to tell me something I know is not true. I just smile and ignore them.

I prove them wrong and smile. I did it 3 times to a Verizon rep at a store, he came back and said his manager wanted to know if I was interested in a job. Lol

I should have said no, I don't want to be dumbed down.

The whole buy a new phone process looks more and more like the buying a car process. If it isn't already completely. Salesmanship, Financing, trade in programs, upgrades, similar warranty restrictions, recalls, etc

that is usually when my selective hearing takes effect - one advantage of getting old. what I hate about best buy is when you go in to just look, just about every associate asks if you want help. if you go in wanting something specific and need help, just about every single associate disappears.

I went to Best buy. Had 3 workers show up and start doing the sales pitch. I said I already pre-ordered it from best buy online, was just checking them out to see if I really wanted it. Two of them took off, but one stayed and chatted about the phone, no sales talk. I told him if it does come on release day I'd probably come Saturday morning to get it. He said that's good, I'll have a bunch of goodies to give you. So it looks like best buy is handing out freebies.

In terms of knowledge of the product, it's probably on a comparable level.

There are plenty options though and no one is forcing to do all those things. Pretty straight forward to just buy direct from Apple, Samsung, Google, OnePlus or whoever and pay full price upfront without any financing or carrier bull****.

Yes! They'll have lots of Samsung swag to give you. Over the years, I've gotten tshirts, water bottles, pens, portable chargers, cord wraps.... all kinds of stuff!

Bahaha this happened to me at Best Buy today. The associate kept talking to me about the camera and asking me if I wanted to see it.

I told her I already took some pictures and I watched the unpacked event so I already know all about the phone then she preceded to tell me about the pre order credit and asked if I wanted to pre order. LOL just kept nodding and telling her no thanks.

Earlier this week I went to AT&T and had to tell the rep that the S20+ I was holding wasn’t the Ultra LOL.
