I waited all summer for the TF700 to come out and I got mine the day they landed at Best Buy. (I bought the 64gb version for $600) I used it for about a week and was fairly disappointed. The screen was AWESOME, but the overall performance was less than stellar. For the most part, the TF700 was laggy, slow (pretty much the same thing), the streaming video was awful (the screen never could figure out what the correct brightness setting should be even though I turned "Auto Brightness" off) and apps were constantly crashing. The final straw was a dead pixel in the middle of the screen. I took it back. (These things I think should not be happening with a $600 device) I figured I had set my expectations too high so I lowered them significantly and bought a Galaxy Tab2 7". I figured, if I don't expect much, I won't be disappointed. Turns out, I was right. Great tablet for the price but I had been spoiled by 10" tablets and gobs of RAM and GHz of speed (with the exception being the TF700). On a whim I went to a Best Buy while I was on vacation in Chicago and ended up walking out the door with the Note 10.1.
HOLY COW! I was impressed the second I touched it. Great fit and finish. The screen had the perfect feel and the S-Pen is a clever addition to a tab. For the past few weeks I have used the Note 10.1 exclusively and have been impressed with its speed, sound, media abilities and the S-pen features.
As the days rolled by, it occurred to me that for the same price that I paid for the Note 10.1, I could have gotten a TF700, 32gb ("Perhaps my first Infinity was a bum-unit" is what I was thinking). Twice the on-board memory, significantly higher resolution and the lauded Tegra3 processor for the same price as the Note 10.1. Yesterday I rolled out of bed, showered and headed to BB and picked up the 32gb TF700 to compare. I used it all afternoon and into the evening. I streamed media, played games, surfed the intertubz and basically did everything I use a tablet for to compare the two. I left my Note 10.1 alone all day not wanting to spoil the TF700's chances.
Around 9pm last night, I slid the TF700 under the couch and picked up my Note 10.1. The only thing I had to do was unlock the Note and I KNEW that the Samsung was staying with me and the TF700 was going back to BB.
Yes, the Note is only "rocking" a 1280x800 display but it runs SO much better than the TF700. App transitions on the Sammy are smooth as butter. Navigating graphic heavy apps such as Netflix is a breeze on the Note. Very smooth scrolling on the Samsung compared to very "jerky" movements on the ASUS.
My friend may buy the TF700 from me for his girlfriend and I think she will be pleased but, for the rest of us who like things to work when we want them to work, I'm sure we'll stick with the Note 10.1.

I had the same feeling when i bought mine. I originally had a Galaxy Tab 10.1, so i can understand the feeling of a laggy tablet, but i used it and pushed through, waiting for the ICS update. Well, it finally came, and only a week or two before the Note 10.1 was released.

I went to Best Buy looking to try one out and it took about 2 minutes before i was trading my old tab in for credit towards the new Note.

I had been waiting for this and it has been a wonderful device ever since i bought it. I honestly don't use my laptop hardly at all since i bought my Note.
