Had a video call w/ someone(scammer) and they played a recorded video as the 'live video call'

I had a 'video call' with someone who turned out to be a scammer. She said her volume doesnt work lol so thats why she didnt say anything. And the video on her side was a pre-recorded video pretending to be a live call. A) how is it possible to do that? and B) why would they think anyone believes this? lol

Not sure if anyones experienced this, but I have no idea how to play a video in place of my camera. Seems smart but its obviously fake and they dont make any gestures as if they are talking to you. Its hysterical actually.

And yes, I've been talking to more people online since being quarantined lol

Welcome to Android Central! Scammers and spammers will always find new ways to be sneaky. Who initiated the call? I'd always be wary of any web contact that I didn't know in some way already.
