Had GPS/Wifi/4g/GPS at same time. Phone got hot and shut off

And it wouldn't come back on by pressing the power button. I thought maybe the battery needed charging. I thought that would be odd because the battery had to be over 60% when I was using the nav. Put it in my pocket and realized the phone was hot and I couldn't turn it on. Hooked a charger up to it, and nothing. Finally after a few mins, I held the volume buttons and power buttons together and that finally turned it on. WTF is this?

Many phones have a heat sensor that shuts things down if it gets too hot. Old TP wouldn't disable charging when the phone got too hot, which often happened when you used it as a GPS.

How did you have wifi and 4G on at the same time? my 4G turns off when I turn wifi on and won't turn on until wifi is off...

I just tried it, and it does turn off automatically. So GPS/4g was on.


So these phones overheat and turn themselves off? Is this common?

it happened to me on an LG Optimus the other day.

Pandora w/ GPS made it turn off after 50 minutes
