All keyboard sounds stopped working yesterday, for no apparent reason. I've been using Swiftkey Pro for 2-3 years and generally like it a lot. But I noticed the typing sound stopped on that app yesterday, so I uninstalled and reinstalled it, tried the default keyboard, tried Google keyboard, with and without Swiftkey installed. No combination worked, and none of the keyboards made a sound, no matter how I adjusted the settings in both the apps and in the system. I got them finally to vibrate, but they wouldn't make the clicking or tapping sound. Except Swiftkey, which wouldn't even vibrate.

Did some searching and couldn't find any fixes to the issue, and it's strange how it made EVERY keyboard app stop making sound. So I said heck with it and backed up my stuff and reset it. It's a royal PITA to do that because of the all the time it takes reinstall everything and set it up. But I'm OCD about things like that, and it would've driven me crazy.

As an aside, I ended up just sticking with the HTC Sense keyboard and am actually enjoying it better than Swiftkey. I seem to type better on it for some reason.

And before anyone starts, I don't really care if you don't like to hear keyboard sounds. I do like to hear them since I have fat fingers and it makes me type more confidently. :p

Never had that happen to me but I generally dont have sounds enabled. Out of interest I did think my phone was having trouble the other day when I had no haptic feedback at all and then I noticed the "Power Saver" had kicked in and it disables vibrations.
Might have been some other app that messed up your sounds? be careful what you reinstall after the wipe.

Hope it doesn't come back.

I stopped using SwiftKey a couple months ago.

Well it did it again today. And then as I came to type this message just now, they started working again. WTH!
