It's very reliable and makes me think there was more wrong with the previous phone than the sim card slot.

Is it a refurbished one? I ask because I attempted to get a replacement, but when I asked if it was refurbished, they said yes, so then I decided to stick with my current one. I did not want to justify the price for a refurbished unit...

Verizon is tricky. They said new at first...then I called them again and they said like new... probably a return. But I'm happy it works.

My thoughts are as long as it works perfectly for you, and it doesn't physically look refurbished, then power to you!

I'm beginning to think that the problem with the type of scanner that Google (or HTC and LG) uses is more humidity-sensitive than anything else. My 2 had problems for months when it started getting cold last year. 4 replacements (all sen back) had the same problem. Then, all of a sudden, the original one started working again, and I was able to add a fingerprint. Now it unlocks almost before I touch it. We'll see in November if it starts acting up again - then the "lick and wipe" starts again, until the humidity goes back up. (And it affects fingers more when they're older. 76 year old fingers make you think you have defective fingers.)

you know tell you and all the Android phones I've ever owned with fingerprint scanners such as my older Galaxy s8, my Nexus 6P when the fingerprint scanner was first introduced and now my pixel, never actually had an issue with fingerprint scanners. Honestly, the fingerprint scanner on my 3XL that works faster than my Galaxy s8 did. That's to be expected... But my Galaxy s8 did work overall decently.
