I was planning on taking advantage of a similar offer during pre-order, but the $600 isn't guaranteed. If Samsung finds something that they aren't happy with, you get waaaay less. I won't take that chance.

That's what I was thinking. On the Flossy video I saw yesterday, he said the S8 would fetch $600 on a trade-in. That's a great deal.

All these questions on what constitutes a good deal is one reason why I don't purchase outright. I'd rather lease and spend around $250-270 for about 6 months usage than trying to get 75% value back for it by trade-in or selling outright.

I had kept my Note 5 for two years because I missed the 7. The trade in value at tmobile wasn't worth it to me. I kept that one and still have it. Now i have a back up. But yes, I also just prefer to lease then Jump to the next phone.

BTW klee0032 welcome to the Note 9. I've had mine for 2 weeks and love it.

I just ordered mines unlocked through Samsung with their financing and upgrade every year program. I have an S8+ they gave me instant credit for as long as I send it back within 15 days. I have the iPhone X and I’m always switching back and forth between android and I LOVE the Note series. I use it a lot for work. Looking forward to getting back to the Note family.

What have you heard about different things they're not happy with?

It's posted on other message boards that people have been told they'd receive a certain amount and then end up getting $25-$50 instead. I'm not sure about specifics, but I'm not taking any chances.

There's always have both, backup or where one has a feature or app the other lacks. Or an app is a better fit.
