Had to tether to laptop for hotspot to work in the semi-truck

We are on our second trip to Michigan this week in the semi-truck. We just picked up the Droid Razr Maxx before we left. Previously my boyfriend had the thunderbolt htc and had no issues with the hotspot/internet, now we cannot pull up yahoo and most sites, google comes up. Hotmail would not come up, etc...I read on other droid forums that this is a known issue with the Razr and the Razr Maxx. I am disappointed that the Verizon guy we worked with did not let us in on this "secret" issue with internet as it is important to his job of driving truck, using GPS and getting correct info from the internet. I love the Razr Maxx, went two days on the battery with alot of usage. Its an awesome phone, but this issue is a pain. Wondering if anyone else had these issues? If we received a text or a call, the internet on the laptop kicks off too. So I could not finish my stuff while he received a call or text, or had to restart the page, etc. Thankful that these forums have the info they do. I learned alot about the issue before I even experienced most of it. Please post the problems and/or solutions to the problems you are experiencing with the hotspot or internet access to certain sites, etc..

It looks like this is a known issue, and an update is going to be coming very soon that will correct your issue.

You made the right choice, and with this update, it looks like you will be able to use the phone as intended
