When I get a text message on my phone and I look at it through handcent it says it was sent 5 hours before the time it was actually sent. ie: I send someone a text at 5, they respond within that same minute so I would receive the message at 5, however, the time stamp would say 12. How would I go about fixing this?
 
This is an issue that some people are having after doing the 2.3.20 update. A bug report has been made to Handcent. Hopefully we will see a fix soon. As soon as I get more information I will post on AC boards for everyone.

your right...this did happen right after I got the update...well...thanks!
 
Until handcent is fixed a work around (still isn't 100%) is to go into handcent and change the delivery time offset.

I have tried to change that...but no matter what number i set it to, it doesn't seem to change the delivery time at all....do I have to do something special? and if its 5 hours behind I would set it to +5 hours right?

Yes, mine is 4 hours behind I set it +4 hours. It works for the most part, but not always.
 
Handcent has issued an update in the market. I downloaded it seems to have fixed the timestamp issue. Hope this helps everyone having issues with Handcent.
 
same here, I updated this afternoon and have had no issues. Glad to see the quick response time on the fix.
