Handcent Notification Problem - Help

I'm guessing some of you Handcent users can help me out here. When I get a SMS, the most recent one shows at the bottom of my unlock screen. However, even after reading the text message (and the widget no longer showing 1 unread message), the notifications will still say 1 new message and the last message still show on my unlock screen. Even if I click the notification, it takes me to the message, but the notification remains. If I restart the phone this goes away. Any way to keep it from doing this? I love Handcent and don't want to return to the Sense SMS. Thanks.

this happens for everyone, regardless of SMS app
some people say that if you tap the text box like you're going to write something, then delete it after a second or two---it will negate the issue. worth a shot.

he/she just flashed the leaked RUU--and it apparently fixed that problem.
but, flash the RUU at your own discretion--or wait for the inevitable OTA

yes normally when you bring up the text message box? Simply tap the message box. However, not the message area( or your reply keyboard with pop up). Your notification should go away.

Thanks! I'll assume I need to use the above fix for now. The strange thing is that before Handcent, I never had this issue with the Sense SMS application.
