Handcent SMS users (with Spare Parts), does Handcent hog up and drain your battery?

I've noticed that when the setting for Handcent SMS has the Blinking LED to "Fast", "Normal", or "Slow" it'll eat up resources and takes up +80% of the Partial Wake Time Usage according to Spare Parts. I've noticed this with 2.1, 2.2, and 2.2 again after a hard reset. I'm assuming it's an issue with the last few updates of Handcent as I did not have this problem a month ago.

With it set to "Default" blinking it'll consume normal resources like every other app. Thing is with the "Default" blinking, it just stays green like it's fully charged.

I'd appreciate if someone else can look into this and see if this same issue is present for you.

I use Handcent, and also have Spare Parts installed, how do I check this? I just changed my LED settings to DEFAULT (was on fast). Should I change it back to check it?

how did you pinpoint it to be the LED freq.? i had mine on slloowww but switched back to default now cause of this post to observe.

I have been using Handcent for almost a year, and have never suspected it to be a battery hog. Having said that, I leave it on the default setting, only mine is blue. So if it's the solid green color that bothers you, I believe you can change it.

Green or Amber are the only options on an Evo....

the newest version, or current version, only allows green or amber blinks.

i narrowed it down to the LED blinking because I tried the Default, Fast, Normal, and Slow blinks individually. Each time, I would connect my phone to charge for a second so that I can go to Spare Parts > Battery History > Choose Partial Wake Usage and Since Last Unplugged to correctly monitor the usage. I would then send a text to myself from my Google Voice number and wait 5-10 minutes to check Spare Parts.

For Fast, Normal, and Slow it would show Handcent SMS with a big blue bar (indication excessive Partial Wake Usage) while with the Default setting, it would blend in with the other processes.

Does choosing Default just show a solid lit green light for anyone else?

Did the older version allow for blue on the EVO? I have the current version on the X, and it is blue. If so, it must vary by device

On the previous version the option was there for other colors, but they did not work. After the update, only green and amber are the options, but they do work.

And yes I have the same issue with the led staying lit constantly when set to default, no blink at all.
