Handwriting Icon T

Hi,
I just got my Samsung Galaxy Note 5, and when I press micro icon and my T icon disappear,how can I bring it back.

Welcome to Android Central! What do you mean by the T icon?

Try bringing the spen close to the screen again. That's what works for me.

That used to work for me too, until the last update Verizon pushed this month. I no longer get the little 'T and pen' icon in certian areas. I used it all the time w/ Evernote, but can only get the icon in the title section now, and not for the note body. I also tried MS Word, and can only get the icon in the file name box, and not in the document. Why did this quit working? This was what I found to be a HUGE plus over my Note 3, as it was so easy to use the Spen for input anywhere. Anyone know a fix for this? (btw, I also couldn't get the icon to use for this post....)
