Hangout SMS Issue

I understand many are not fans of Hangouts but I usually use it so it's only one application for all of my messages. My issue is that if I send an MMS message from Hangouts to my friends, whom are also on Verizon, it tells me it's sent but they get "Unsupported file type" errors. If I send from the Google Messenger application, they get the MMS just fine.

I know they're using a variety of phones from Note 5 to Droid Turbos. Not sure what's going on but I'm forced into using two apps until I find a solution.

I haven't heard of this issue. I'll try to replicate this. What carrier are you on? Are you using your cell# or Google Voice?

I want Hangouts to work. I want it to work so bad. Now it seems like Google just needs to pull the plug faster.

I'm also on Verizon using my cell #. My friend on Metro or whatever gets my images though.

I'll try it and see what happens. Though generally speaking MMS, group SMS, etc. has worked fine for me via Hangouts . . . but I use Google Voice.

It's worked fine for me too until recently. That's what I don't understand.

Just tested with my friend that has a Note 3 on Verizon and he gets the pictures. This is weird. He does use Hangouts though so maybe that's why.

I've also run into sporadic issues with Hangouts but it seems to be with MMS messages sent to multiple folks who have iPhones on Verizon. Those problems were more pronounced when I used the default Messenger app.
