hangouts 2.0

I wan to say that I've had 2 or 3 updates in the past few days, to a week, for hangouts, but I've only just recently even tried Hangouts. I've only tried it because I read a post about being able to do sms with it. I really don't know much about it but I'm not terribly impressed with it so far. I don't think I've experienced the character limit. I get pretty wordy so if there is a limit I will probably not use it. Right now I'm just playing around with it, but I keep catching myself in Handcent, old habits and all. Anyway I haven't found anything that is really a compelling reason to continue to use it over any other app. I don't feel like it has many options, which I guess could appeal to the vanilla android users. It doesn't show all the profile pics I have for people, I accidentally archived some messages and now it seems like I need a network to view them, I don't know what the mood option changes, and everything is really slow on it. Seems like it's always loading, or taking forever to send a message. Just now it took 2 minutes to add a contact to an SMS? I have a feeling my time with hangout will be short.
