Hangouts Getting Message Dates Wrong

Is anyone else using Google Hangouts as the default messaging app? Mine doesn't get the dates right. Is there a setting I need to change?

Hm that is odd. Is this with SMS or normal hangout messages?

SMS messages handled through hangouts. And to be more specific, the messages all say the right date, but the threads are all over the place. Threads that have the last message of last night say they were from Sunday, but some are spot on. It's really random and I can't see any pattern to it.
