Hangouts not vibrating and ringing when receiving new message

My thread disappeared and I can't find it in my history so here goes.....

Is there a way to get the HTC 10 to vibrate and ring during a txt? Hangouts has the proper settings checked off but never works. Had this issue I think on my old turbo and just wanted to see if others have this issue. Would love to be able to have the phone vibrate with alerts when not in vibrate mode.
I am relying on my pebble, but really don't want to all the time when the phone is in my pocket.

Check your phone's Notification settings and make sure that the app is allowed notifications and that you don't have any apps that control notifications that might be interfering (like LightFlow)

If that doesn't help, try uninstalling/re-installing Hangouts. I've no issues with my notifications, but I'm not using an HTC 10 (it's possible, albeit unlikely, that there's a compatibility issue with the HTC 10 build specifically).

If the re-install doesn't work, I'd try booting up your phone in Safe Mode and trying it there. If it does work there, but not in 'normal' mode, then it's definitely a 3rd party app that's causing the issue.
