I purchased an S7edge outright from my carrier on release day and had been enjoying it for the past couple months until I started to get the itch to change. I initially was looking at the HTC 10 as a way to escape the smudgy glass on the galaxy but fortunately the OnePlus 3 caught my eye as an alternative to the 10.
Although I had a good idea of what to expect from the reviews I had read, I was nonetheless still pleasantly surprised (shocked maybe) at the build quality from this device when it arrived. At almost half the price of the S7edge, this thing feels every bit as nice in the hand (in my opinion better) than the Samsung. The aluminum back and gently chamfered sides feel incredible in the hand, and come without the constant greasy feeling of the glass-backed galaxy. That, and I am not always inadvertently hitting the edge screen when using the phone one-handed (even with the updates, I found my palm was frequently registering inadvertent touches). Throw in the nice gesture features of Oxygen OS, a generous 64gb of fast internal storage and a bloat-free experience, and I am sold.
I do miss the low light capabilities of the Samsung camera somewhat but overall the camera experience has been great as well.
The S7edge is a nice unit, no question, but for me, the OnePlus 3 is as close to perfect as I have had in a phone.
