Hard keyboard lag fix using swiftkey!

I could just be lucky so far but after installing "swiftkey" and setting it to my default keyboard, my hardware keyboard seems to have quit lagging on the missed keys. In fact i have only hit backspace while typing this out to correct my misspellings.

This has made my experience much better. Anyone else have swiftkey installed notced a major difference in the hard keyboard performance?

I just tried this. If I type the same letter twice very quickly (more quickly than I could if I was really typing) I can make it skip.

I just tested it very briefly and the keyboard does, at first glance, seem to work better. However, I don't know if the keyboard lag issue has actually been fixed or if the Swiftkey text prediction masks keyboard lag.

I'll keep experimenting and see how it goes.

I have also noticed that switching the Input Method to Android Keyboard also does the trick.. maybe it has something to do with Swype?

After a couple of days I'm not convinced swiftkey fixed the keyboard lag problem. I'm still getting skipped letters.

And I miss Swype quite a bit.

Requires rooting and custom ROM, no?

i dont think it needs a custom rom, but it does require a custom recovery and root, (both of which are done when you do the whole one click)
