Hard Reset-now I have a brick

I performed the hard reset because of the not ringing on incoming call issue. Now, after going through the standard reprogramming of my phone it just sits there like a POS brick. Stuck on "Touch here to Begin" Android. It says programming successful, but then it returns to the "touch here to begin" I have cut the phone off for 15 minutes then powered it back up. I was going to manually enter my esn # on the Verizon Wireless website to activate my phone but the plastic battery remover piece ripped off and I cannot remove my battery to see the number. I guess my next option is just go to the Verizon store. Any ideas?

Try another hard reset:

Power off phone.
Hold down the home button and power button until you see an exclamation mark.
Press the search button.
Choose the option to factory reset.

It's unlikely you even need to program your phone again. You can get past the activaton screen. Press down on the upper left corner of screen, then swipe to the upper right corner, followed by the lower right, and finally the lower left. I did this a few weeks back.

Do you mean to say you took the battery out? I would also recommend giving that a try if nothing else works.

Just did the hard reset again and the phone went back to the activation screen. I tried the swipe method and nothing happened.

I cannot remove the battery because my tab is pulled off. At this point I'm not gonna start scratching stuff up to remove the battery. I have also had my touchscreen not be responsive on several occasions and had several automatic reboots of the phone, and my battery life is horrible. My phone was dead after being off of the charger yesterday for only 12 hours of very, very, light use. Battery life is horrible on this thing. My experience with this phone has been crappy. I'm hoping I can just get a replacement phone or just return this thing.

I am not trying to be rude.

It sounds like it may be the operator and not the actual phone. You did tear off the battery pull tab...

I agree I wonder if he read your entire post, because it looks as if hes just stuck in an activation loop, its actually a common problem on 2.1 that I have seen with the X and the ally.

touch each corner of the screen in a clockwise motion. top left/top right/bottom right/bottom left

I shouldn't have used the word "swipe". Like Dirk said, just touch each corner in the order he and I said.

haha real funny. I think YOU need to read the entire post.

Have you tried putting an rubberband at the tip of an flat head screwdriver. To get the battery out without scratching anything or try to put some kind of material or cloth between the Screwdriver and battery to get the battery out.
