Has anybody found a star gazer app?

I have the note and coming from an iPhone I had a pretty awesome space app. Showed you what star you were looking at just by scrolling your phone across the sky.

All the apps I've seen or tried are extremely unreliable. They either don't move when moving the phone or they move when not moving the phone. Lol

So does anybody know of a good constellation type app that they have used on the note3? If so what is it and is it good?

Have you used it on the note3? I just downloaded it and it has the same issues that I stated above. I just did a panoramic style Swipe across and the map barely moved.

Google sky map is the best,, I have been using it for a few years. Dead accurate. I use it on the note 3 almost everyday. Dead accurate for me, no matter what phone I've used over the last 3 years. I have never experienced the issue you have,, works very smoothly.

Even indoors it should work smoothly I always play with it indoors. When I'm sitting on my couch I will play with it to see if there is anything to go gaze at. Being indoors does not affect at all. You may have a gps issue in your area,, that would cause what you are saying.

Imma very amateur stargazer, with a bigger telescope than I have the talent for... Here's a few apps:

Google Sky Map, SkEye, Star Chart, SkySafari, Star Chart, Distant Suns,

Some other cool related apps: ISS Detector (there are a bunch of these), SatTrack, NASA, APOD...

... and if you really want to spend the $$$ SkySafari Pro.

Yeah man I scroll it across and it studders and shakes but doesn't actually scroll as often as you would think. Almost a 360 turn and it moved a little. It kills me because I had one on my iPhone that ran unbelievably smooth even in my house.

Don't know,, every phone from evo to evo 3d, evo lte,, NOTE 2 and note 3 never an issue.

I'm not an expert on star gazing or android, but I like "The Night Sky" app on my Note 3. You can get a Lite (free) version or upgrade.
