Has anyone bought the HTC U11 from Sprint?

Yes.... I did and everything works great. Excellent reception, wifi, wifi calling, Bluetooth, all in all I am exceedingly happy with it.

I'm wondering if the unlocked version will work on Sprint just fine vs the Sprint specific version?

Is the phone unlocked? Does sprint offer a payment plan? Thanks.

Currently $696 single payment or $22.75 for 24 months (for existing customers. Looks like it is $29.00 per month for 24 months for new customers). Pre order was $12.75 for 24 months with 2 free Echo Dots. Not unlocked but can be after you purchase. Download speeds where I live are faster than verizon on my iPhone 7 Plus, 66 MB/sec on Sprint with U11 vs 55 MB/sec on Verizon with 7Plus. Other than 2 of my family's 4 U11 with cracked screens already, the phone performs fantastically. Excellent call quality and crazy fast. Camera is superb. But nothing beats Portrait mode on iPhone 7 Plus.
Phones won't transfer contacts to Android Auto on 2017 Volkswagen. iPhone 7Plus does.

Get.A.Case.

The unlocked version cannot be activated on Sprint, unfortunately, because Sprint won't allow it.

No visual voicemail, though. That's been disappointing. :(

I'm on Sprint and I have visual voicemail. It's on Google Voice and it's as good or better than the old Sprint app, not to mention it's free, and I really don't miss paying Sprint 1.99 per month for it. Stop being disappointed and set it up. It's fairly fast and easy....

I've got the unlocked on TMo and finally downloaded their VVM app. I guess I just don't know how to set up up Google Voice. Though I still have all my old voicemails from when I was on Project Fi, so that was fun.

I'm disappointed because the HTC 10 had it out of the box. No excuse for a carrier not to include it on a device they are selling. It's a step backward.

I've also never had to pay Sprint for it.

I had the HTC 10 with Sprint and it had the VVM. HTC U11 does not have the VVM app, and Sprint charges for call forwarding. I do have a separate Google voice number, and use the *73+number for no answer forwards, and *74+number for busy forwards to my Google voice mail. Google voicemail is free, transcribes the VVM to text, and sends me push notifications.
I am disappointed in Sprint for not including their VVM as part of the package and charging for my call forwards, but hey, we all can find our work arounds.

I could careless about visual voicemail on Sprint phones. Simy because it will not play on speaker phone if you have a Bluetooth device connected. Seeing as how I have a smartwatch it was rather useless, I had to turn off Bluetooth every time to listen. if I tried o put it up to my ear the screen would stay on and buttons would push and it would stop playing the message.

Just downloaded/installed latest update (~90 MB), the October security update
