Has anyone else had an issue with DeX connecting then reconnecting with a Note 10+?

I recently got a Note 10+ and I picked up a USB C to HDMI cord that has power along with 2 USB 3.0 connections so that I can use my phone as a standalone device on my monitor however I'm having connection issues. When I plug in DeX launches and I can use it for anywhere between 15 - 60 seconds before it disconnects, then reconnects. This cycle continues until I unplug the phone.

Has anyone experienced this issue yet and has a solution? I know the cord is fine because I tried it on a Note 8 I could get my hands on which worked flawlessly. Any help would be appreciated since 2 different uselss Samsung help desk people told me the problem was that I had to install the app on my monitor
