has anyone had problems with the s7 overheating.

took me ten minutes to get it to turn off, then it just turned back on, hot to the touch, with no active apps running, only background. Every time I tried to turn it off it would try to open Pandora or the camera or just do nothing. Finally got it off and it is cooling down, but almost afraid to turn it back on..

Try safe mode, sounds like it might be a runaway app.

Power the phone off.
Once the phone is off and all lights are emitting, press and hold the “Power” button to turn the S7 back on.
When the Galaxy logo appears on the screen, press and hold the “Volume Down” button.
Continue to hold the “Volume Down” button until the phone completely boots. You will see the words “Safe Mode” appear in the lower left corner of the screen if you performed the steps properly.
I copied this text from a tutorial

Safe mode will not lets apps run till you start them. This will help you track down the culprit.

Power down fully to exit safe mode.
