Has anyone loaded KitKat onto a NEC Terrain?

I have seen instructions for loading KitKat onto a NEC Terrain. I haven't seen any discussions about it so I am hesitant to try it. I am concerned about the physical keyboard functions failing if I alter the OS.

I know that it isn't a very popular phone but people do have them.
