This is my first AMOLED screen so I have no prior experience, but last night I woke up and messed with the phone until I could fall back to sleep and noticed some blotchy-ness on all black screens that after some research I've learned is called "mura" and apparently it is very common on the RAZR and AMOLED in general. It doesn't seem to affect the screen when displaying anything else however. At first I thought it was glue residue from how the layers of screen are assembled or something.
I was only able to see it under very specialized situations (total darkness, eyes totally adjusted to the dark) so part of me thinks it's not a big deal but the part of me that just spent $$ on the phone and is locked into a 2 year contract wants it to not have issues and is concerned it could lead to bigger problems down the road.
The good thing is I've not been able to see it since and I've tried to look for it... I went into a pitch dark room and looking for it after letting my eyes adjust for a minute or so. So while I am glad it's next to impossible to see, I still know it's there but there is no way Verizon will take it back as I can't easily show them the problem. From what I read about the RAZR issues it's much more noticeable on that phone and it's likely another Nexus I'd get would have the same issue at one level or another.
Here is a pic of kind of what it looks like... note this is not my pic and it's nowhere NEAR this bad, but it looks about the same.

In case anyone wants to try to recreate it, I used Crackle and noticed it before a video would start to play or anytime the screen is totally black.
Anyone see this on their Nexus or other AMOLED screen?
Ben
