Has anyone noticed their Nexus screen is blotchy?

This is my first AMOLED screen so I have no prior experience, but last night I woke up and messed with the phone until I could fall back to sleep and noticed some blotchy-ness on all black screens that after some research I've learned is called "mura" and apparently it is very common on the RAZR and AMOLED in general. It doesn't seem to affect the screen when displaying anything else however. At first I thought it was glue residue from how the layers of screen are assembled or something.

I was only able to see it under very specialized situations (total darkness, eyes totally adjusted to the dark) so part of me thinks it's not a big deal but the part of me that just spent $$ on the phone and is locked into a 2 year contract wants it to not have issues and is concerned it could lead to bigger problems down the road.

The good thing is I've not been able to see it since and I've tried to look for it... I went into a pitch dark room and looking for it after letting my eyes adjust for a minute or so. So while I am glad it's next to impossible to see, I still know it's there but there is no way Verizon will take it back as I can't easily show them the problem. From what I read about the RAZR issues it's much more noticeable on that phone and it's likely another Nexus I'd get would have the same issue at one level or another.

Here is a pic of kind of what it looks like... note this is not my pic and it's nowhere NEAR this bad, but it looks about the same.

In case anyone wants to try to recreate it, I used Crackle and noticed it before a video would start to play or anytime the screen is totally black.

Anyone see this on their Nexus or other AMOLED screen?

I have had two, and the first was. This one is crsp and perfect, as was on my galaxy2. There ARE some defective screens. If you can "see" a defect, get a new one. The difference for me is stark.

I dont want to be THAT guy but... you started a thread about a problem that you noticed one time and havent been able to see anymore after doing extensive research? Phones are not perfect but if you are truly having a problem I suggest you return it for another one. You are still within return period as the phone was just released yesterday and so if you want to return it, you can. Verizon can not stop you because you dont want to keep the phone.

On the other hand, I have not experienced that problem nor seen it in any of my experiences. Im not trying to be a dick because I do understand your concerns. I just dont want newbies to log onto the forum see this post, and think ALL nexus devices have 'blotchy' screens.

I've been able to see it since but you ave to look very hard in a very dark room. Frankly smudges on the screen are more likely to detract from the image in most cases.

I'm probably going to chalk it up to part of the joys of today's cheap manufacturing processes and keep it... frankly with my luck I'd get dead pixels in the next one. Regardless, there is no way a rep will see what I am talking about in a store so I doubt I'd get them to take it back easily anyway. You really have to have total darkness and it doesn't affect anything other than a completely blank (black) screen which rarely happens.

My guess is based on what I've read/researched all AMOLED screens have it to an extent, it's part of the manufacturing that there are slight variations in the current that gets to the cells. My guess is they are minimized where most people aren't going to see them. Regardless the RAZR's screen seems to have a much bigger problem where it's visible in more normal use.

You either see it or you don't. If you cant see it, a rep wont either. My last one was swapped a defect. Uoubcould see the defect. If you have to "tweak" the lighting in the room and the screen to get it to show, chances are it isnt really noticable, and a rep wont see it so it isnt defective!
