As far as I can tell from posts on xda and on twitter, the promised (Poland-first) OTA has been delayed for some time as LG works to fix bug(s), but there seems to be quite a bit of confusion; some folks on xda claim that a direct download is available from LG's servers. Has anyone, in Poland or elsewhere, actually received a Marshmallow update from LG? Let us know and show off some screenshots : )

Yes, all versions of the G4 will receive M. Question is, when. This delay isn't a good start.

That said, I would rather receive a flawless upgrade than a botched one. I just think LG's marketing is often clumsy and heavy-handed.. why set yourself up for failure by making promises you can't keep? It's common for a big version update to hit a snag at the 'last moment', i.e. when you're beginning to roll it out to a wider group of beta-testers. Here's a tip for LG's marketing department: don't put out a big press release one week before your software team promises to have it ready; talk about the update no earlier than when it actually has been 'greenlighted' by said software team, when it has been rolled out to some end users AND, preferably, when no major bugs have been found after that.

Even the king of updates, Apple iPhone, frequent run into problems with major new updates. I always tell people to skip the first update and wait to install the patched update that comes right after that. :)

Exactly. I usually don't let my wife update her iPhone 5c without me reading up on update bugs/fixes. The last 2 ios updates she did without telling me and caused freezing and force closes. Now she wants to throw it against the wall lol

I don't mind being the guinea pig with Android though. I've always liked updating asap and posting up here to warn all lol

well.. on the other hand, a bad update has its perks, sometimes. When Verizon released the first update for the Galaxy S5, it basically bricked it. The tech support couldn't fix it. The store manager couldn't fix it. So their solution was to give me a replacement phone. I received a free upgrade to a brand new Verizon Note 4.
