I love my Note 5 but one thing that has been giving me problems, and other Note 5 users as well is the screen freezing issue. When unlocking the phone the screen freezes for a few seconds and after 2 Factory resets, I'm ready to move on. I know the phones are similar, but I love the S Pen functionality and the S Note and Scrapbook Apps, can I still use these apps with the S6 Edge+? Is the battery life the same or similar? How different are the phones ergonomically? If anyone has used both phones and can answer these questions I would greatly appreciate it. I would also welcome any other feedback or opinions.

I bought my wife and I Note 5's. I have to say we both loved our Note 5's, my wife has not had any issues, or at least she hasnt told me but she loves the phone. I get bored of phones real quick and like to try the latest and greatest. I always liked the S6 Edge but the performance just sucked but i loved the curved glass. When i found out the S6 Edge+ had the same horsepower under the hood as the Note 5 i decided to give it a try. The main thing that sucks is the only version Verizon had was the 32GB version, i looked everywhere for a 64GB version of the S6 Edge+ but no luck. So i got rid of a bunch of pics and movies and have been using the phone for about a month now and i have to say i love it. I got the gold one and people compliment me on it all the time. I used my SPEN sometimes on the Note5 but not alot so it wasnt that big of a deal for me to be without it. If they came out with a Silver Note 5 id probably switch back. Either way the S6 Edge+ feels great and im really happy with it. I would highly recommend it, battery life is stellar also.

My Galaxy S6 edge+ has the same freezing issue. There are several threads here about the issue... So you might experience it with the edge+ as well

Have you taken any steps to fix the freezing issue? Do you still enjoy using the S6 Edge+?

I've tried some small things but nothing helped forever. It does not happen frequently enough for me to really freak out about it :) (And I do tend to freak out easily about my phone ;)

I hate the be the bearer of bad news but this freezing when unlocking happens on both devices. Like you said, it doesn't happen frequently enough for people to really be alarmed but switching from the Note 5 to the Edge+ will still give you the same chances of running into a unit with this issue. One of my two Edge+ suffers from this problem.

That's a bummer, it seems as if people are just dealing with it. I'm very disappointed that I spent $800 on this phone and it is doing this, and then to find out that Samsung's highest end phone the S6 Edge+ has the same problem. Now I feel I'm in a Gridlock situation, and not quite sure what to do.

Simple, avoid anything made by Samsung and you should be fine.

Get a Nexus 6P FTW or a BlackBerry Priv

Yeah, don't do this. If you're thinking some device made by Huawei or BlackBerry will be much less prone to software bugs you might wanna reconsider. One look at the Nexus 6P forums and you'll see half the threads are various issues even more so than the Edge+. Matrix Leader dude, you really, REALLY need to stop steering people towards devices you have done no research on. Just because your Edge+ is suffering from one bug doesn't mean ALL the other phones are bug-free. This is bad advice, plain and simple.

Switched from Note 5 to Edge Plus and I love the phone. I steered away from the Edge plus at first since I was reading about issues on the board. Unlike you I had no use for the stylus on the Note though so I switched over. I did get one defective Edge Plus (screen flickering, diluted colors) but the replacement has had no issues (knock on wood). I wasn't in love with the way the phone felt in the hand at first but I put a UAG case on it and it's a non issue.

Do tell. Seriously, tell us all about your extensive experience with the Nexus 6 P. I mean, since the reviews I've seen say it's inferior to the edge plus. Not to mention its bulkier and harder to handle.

Spoken like a complete clueless *****. Anyone that thinks a Nexus, Droid and ****berry is better than a flagship Samsung device should have their man card revoked. Probably an X apple user.

I've had my GS6E+ for two weeks. Awesome phone. I guess I'm lucky because I have zero problems with this phone. I really have to LOL!!! when someone suggests a Blackberry over the Edge Plus.

BTW, I chose this phone over the 6P.

I've had my gs6 edge plus since day one and its been a beast . I like how the **** hurt nexus guys keep jumping on to the Samsung forums with there hey look at me talk don't pay them no mine

It used to happen to my gs6edgeplus, blk scrren or full screen no touch screen response. Had to lock then unlock quickly to get normal operation back. Mine was caused by the stock messages app trying to backup and sync. Forced Stopped messages and backup and sync app in app manager. Disabled the backup and sync, and cleared data on messages app. It was an ATT bloat problem. If this isnt att check for processes hanging up in running app manager.
