Has anyone tried to install the DNSet app on their M9 to fix the wi-fi bug?

See article: Select Comcast Wi-Fi Routers Cause Android Lollipop Wi-Fi Bug

I successfully installed the app on my S6 and it makes a huge difference on wi-fi with my Comcast router. I can install it on my M9, but it does nothing. There must be some security feature blocking it on the M9. If anyone figures it out, please let us know. I've emailed the developer, but no response yet. I wondered why my phones were so slow on w-fi at home. Using speedtest app, I only get 12 Mbps download speed on my M9 using wi-fi, but over 60 Mbps on my S6 with the DNSet app properly installed and working.

Not sure I can really explain it bigrey except that it is apparently a bug affecting only android devices running Lollipop 5.0 and higher. Comcast is working with Google for a solution. In the meantime, some are reporting setting your phone to access Google's servers for DNS lookup (instead of Comcasts) is a workaround. There is an app called DNS Changer (not the one for rooted phones, the other one) that will allow you to do this. You can also change the DNS server manually in your phone settings I found last night. Here is a link to thread in the Comcast forums discussing the issue with various phones.

The problem is that Comcast routers use IPV6. Changing it to IPV4 seems to solve the problem as in this post:

I have a Comcast provided gateway at home and at the bar I own. My connection speed at both locations is averaging 45-50mbs. Perhaps this is specific to certain regions. I am in the Houston area.
