Has anyone's Google Now stopped talking?

I just noticed this today. Usually it would speak the answer to simple questions like who the President is, but now it just displays it. Under settings the correct language is selected and under voice, always talk is selected. I tried toggling voice on and off but that didn't help. I noticed an update was available so I installed it but that didn't help either. After that I uninstalled all updates for it to bring it back to factory default and it still won't talk. Nothing was changed between it working and not working. Naturally I rebooted the phone but that didn't help either.

Maybe this is something on Googles end? Does anyone else have this problem?

Thanks!

When that happened to me, I finally figured out that somehow my volume level had reset itself to zero. You probably won't be that lucky. . . .

Mine stopped working too, but unfortunately for me it wasn't just raising the volume. I'm only getting on-screen answers that are no longer verbalized. Anyone have any ideas how to restore voice? I've rebooted with no luck.

mine stopped working yesterday too... when I go into SV, I get the blue wave when I speak... then it turns to green once I finish speaking...and stays that way.. no answer.from Google,nothing......

Go to settings assesibility, text to speech out put select English United States. Select same in Google now setting and reboot. It should work.

You can also adjust the volume in settings, sounds, volume. It's the top setting there.

I have had this problem FOREVER!! Tried all this stuff. One person wrote about a setting from "app manager". I no longer have that. Here's how I fixed it:
Galaxy S7
Settings/apps/google/notifications/on(it was off)/
this turned on all notifications... I went through the list and unchecked some of them, like "stocks" and "sports"... hmmm, gonna turn that one back on cuz it's almost football season!!

I have a Samsung note 8. When I ask Google a question it will not talk with every answer only some. I don't know what determines when it talks or not.
