'Bout a week ago it seems like auto- rotate stopped occuring as often as I had previously noticed it. I checked and yes auto-rotate is still "ON".
Anybody else notice that?

...yes auto-rotate is still "ON"...

Separate from the on/off setting for screen rotation, my device (maybe yours too?) has checkbox's for rotation angles. Maybe yours has 0° as the only mode check'd-in?

Well that's where auto rotate is (and is checked) but I haven't found any selections beyond that. My phone is AT&T and as plain Jane as can be.

Hmm. Got Lollipop (5.0) yesterday still can't find a setting screen like that.
I find Auto Rotate, and it's ON, nothing beyond that though.

I have ATT Lollipop on my Note 3 and I also only have the checkbox for "auto rotat screen". The is the 2nd time my phone stopped rotating, despite the option being checked. The first time I solved it by: "I cleared all app-cach, powered off, removed battery, booted to recovery mode, cleared system cache, went into settings, unchecked auto rotate, went out of settings, went back in, and now it's working!"

This time I JUST rebooted and auto-rotation started working. How annoying!!!

Well auto rotate seem well and truly stuck. In the portrait position. I tried toggling it on/off, off/on. That didn't bring it back. Wiping the cache didn't get it working either. I will do a complete shut down and remove the battery.

Turned it off. Pulled the battery. Left it off a long while. Turned it back on but no obvious change.

I'm thinking now that the Android auto rotate function has been tightened and doesn't function in every app now.

Elsewhere on this forum I saw a discussion about the S6 (?) also having rotation issues. One poster suggested getting an app called "Fix my Android".
Guess what? I did NOT find any app by that name thru the PLAY STORE. Why am I not surprised by that.

I think certain apps are available to auto rotate with lp. Wife was complain about it the other day and some did and some didn't rotate.
