I was so pumped to upgrade to the Pixel 2, but after seeing so many issues with the hardware, I have come to the conclusion that Google has not taken the Pixel hardware QC seriously. What do you guys think?

Not sure. I am waiting for Panda 128 GB XL to arrive at the end of the week. I will then make my decision versus relying on others :).

The 5 inch one is fine. Its the 2XL that has the blue tint, grainy stuff, and now burn in issues.. FFF need to act fast if I want to cancel it as mine ships tomorrow.

Well, my smaller one has blue tint at off-angles too. The screen used even in this one isn't really top-notch to be honest. It's decent enough though.

FWIW, every OLED screen shows a tint/hue at off angles, so the fact youre seeing that with the smaller Pixel 2 isn't unusual. If it looks anything like the display units I've looked at then its a pretty normal amount of hue change that you are probably only noticing now thanks to this forum talking about the 2XL's color shift.

However, the 2XL color shift is much more pronounced, which is why it's making its run around the internet. Maybe not a deal breaker to most, but it's there.

When you say "so many issues" it infers that there are a large number. Could you provide examples of what you're referring to beyond the blueish tone shift when viewed from angles or the reported screen burn-in, as those are the only two that I've heard of...

And regarding those, I made an effort to look at the screen to see the blue tone shift, and yes, I saw it. I also made it a point to do it with my Nexus 6 and Pixel XL, and saw it there as well (though not quite as pronounced). But with all 3 I had to hold the phone in a way I never actually hold it, so.... it's no more of a concern to me than if people were to determine that the phone wasn't water resistant when traveling in excess of 100mph. For the screen burn-in, if it's becoming pronounced with the first 1-2 weeks of use, that's a legitimate concern as to where it will be in 6 months to a year...
