I an not so sure I expected there to be any, I am really just curious what to expect from Moto on the update front.
Can anyone who has dealt with them in the past comment on if they push updates other than major android OS jumps? I have to think that since they are so "vanilla" (and have apps in the play store) that they should not have much of a need for other updates.

They said they will fix the pop sound after receiving a notification which many suffer from... hopefully this will be updated soon! since it's freaking annoying

It's been widely reported that 6.0 is "out" in limited testing. I think they call it a "Test Drive" as opposed to a "Soak Test"

Moto is being more careful about updates. They are taking more time but still much faster than Samsung. Android 6 is out on a few phones as a test drive. If that goes well then they will start the next phase, the soak test, for a few weeks. If all is well general release. I think general release will take place by late November.

Yeah. Looks like folks are abiding by the NDA. I haven't seen any leaks.

The phone works so well they really don't need any updates. I think the next one we see is android marshmallow.

We probably won't see any updates until 6.0, since stagefright was already patched at launch, there isn't anything security wise to patch at the moment.

After reading your post I had to go and look. If the screenshots are legit and what they say then I am really excited for 6.0 on the Moto X Pure Edition.
