Has the designer of Lollipop been fired yet?

There's definitely not one single Designer that can be fired.
Maybe one or two Project Managers, though... ; )

Google released multiple updates patching all sorts of the normal bugs that show up on version updates. They're on 5.1.1 already.

You should be mad at your manufacturer and carrier if your phone is running anything less.

Lollipop doesn't have a design problem, it just had a quality control problem early on- lots of serious bugs that got built into lots of phones before they were patched, and a lot of people are still waiting for the fixes to get pushed to them.
