well it was given to me by a friend who has a friend that works for dell . so i am only using it like a tablet . i have verizon and don't plan on switching . i like it . when he gave it to me it was new in the box still . i played with it a little and was liking the layout i dont know if it was 1.6 or 2.1 but it was nice then a saw there was an update for 2.2 froyo so i downloaded it . now for me its not as nice . i love 2.2 froyo on my droid incredible but this is not the same its more like 2.2 vanilla . so i would like to switch back .

also i have been looking into rooting it like i did my incredible and all the rooting i have checked on has nothing about rooting 2.2 . my build #s dont match the downloads . any help would be great !

For rooting froyo use superoneclick. You can get it at the xda forums. To try and downgrade follow the guide at this link: http://android.modaco.com/content/d...uide-to-upgrading-and-downgrading-the-streak/ you can start from the section that talks about going from 2.2 back down to AT&T 1.6. Should work. I did it once on my previous streak that was at 1.6. Upgraded it from donut to froyo and back following that guide. If any of the files are inaccessible let me know I have copies.

Before you give up try one of the different home screens like ADW launcher or LauncherPro. The stock interface is a bit lacking. These improve on it quite a bit.

Probably would have gotten more response to start your own thread, but a great guide can be found on StreakDroid.com. You'll needed to use the QDL Tool to go to the factory 2.2, then you can use the advanced methods to go to a custom one like DJ_Steve's. However the stock 2.2 isn't bad and will give you the option for scanned launchers like ADW or LauncherPro

Not site off the top of my head. Look for the qdl tool tutorial at streakdroid.com it will tell you or streaksmart.com. I'm not by my comp right now.

no matter what i do i cant get the QDL tool to see my dell streak for load i think if i could get it to i have all the drivers i need but not sure about that either
