Have 2013 Hyundai Sonata with factory nav, is android auto worth it?

I purchased my car, a 2013 Hyundai Sonata se, in October of 2013. I opted for the factory tech upgrade with the nav. system (about $1,300 extra).

The Android auto capability is the technology I've been waiting for and I'm wanting to upgrade. I currently use an ipod touch for my local music (since the factory system doesn't show meta data or allow display browsing via Bluetooth) and my phone for Spotify and Pocket Cast. My two device system works, but I'd rather not have to mess with my phone while driving since it's mounted below the screen.

My question is whether android auto is worth trading in for a 2015 Hyundai or ripping out the expensive factory system for an aftermarket head unit.

I generally keep my cars for 5+ years, so trading in so soon seems irresponsible. Also, the "investment" of a new stereo in a depreciating asset also seems irresponsible.

Can anyone offer advice on what option seems best? I'm torn between wanting new technology and wanting to be financially responsible.

If I were in your shoes, I'd simply wait. I have one of the Pioneer units, and with the exception of podcasts, I listen to my music from a USB Drive. The Browse music function of Android auto is not very good.

In fact the whole thing is rather limiting, but of course that's what it was designed to do.

I am reasonably certain it will be much better when it comes time to trade in your car, with hopefully much more functionality implemented on factory head units and sensors in the car.
