Have No Clue!! HELP!!

So, I got a Galaxy Note and want to upgrade to ICS. I came over from the dark side...iOS. I'm running Mountain Lion and followed the directions to download Kies. My Kies always says connecting, but info has been uploaded in to the program. I don't see any avenue to get ICS on my Note.

Sorry to sound ignorant, just have no clue as to what to do.
