I am listening to all the Apple fan boys talking about the superposed new iPhone coming tomorrow or soon.

They are saying "OH my, it is going to have TEXT TO SPEECH so you can say 'Text [name] and it will send a text message' that is going to be so awesome".

Yawn.....been doing that for almost 2 years with the original Droid and now with the TBolt.

And they say Apple is the cutting edge......LOLOLOLOLOLOL

Regardless of how "behind the times" Apple seems to be with some of their features, you have to give them credit for making those same apps and features work flawlessly on the device. I say this because I will be paying full retail for the iPhone 5 when it is released after using my Tbolt for only 4 months.

This phone, and the Android OS itself, is below average when it comes to the iPhone in my opinion. I made the switch because I thought the grass was greener on the other side. It's been anything but that. Since day one I've had to completely wipe and reset my phone twice, had my texts sent to the wrong person on multiple occasions, charge my phone at least twice a day on barely any use, get a new battery because the old one failed, and the list goes on. The UI is slow and unresponsive to say the least. Once the OTA of Gingerbread was finally released, it did nothing to help the phone in any way, shape, or form. The only thing going for it is the 4G and that's off and on at best.

That's not to say Apple hasn't had their share of problems. Every device will and does. However, I had one problem with between my original iPhone and iPhone 3GS and it was fixed immediately. I can't say that about the TBolt. Sorry all, but it was fun while it lasted. The Android and TBolt just aren't for me.

We should be happy for them. They're about to get the iOS equivalent of Eclair.

SuperDave1621, I agree with you wholeheartedly on all points; however, the 4G and free mobile hotspot are enough to make me wait a while longer for HTC and VZ to work out the problems.

I hope your iPhone 5 is all that you want it to be!

Android is for Advanced users
iOS is for novice users

is simple as that...

Android will require users to maintain their phones. For example, some crazy app is killing your battery, well you need to figure it out with possibly some tools etc..

iphone for the most part has very little customization, apple has kind of decided for you (in a way it's good for some users).

I guess you have to decide which one of are you? Do you want to control the phone (Go Android) or do you want to be controlled by the phone (Go Iphone)?

Apple fans really don't understand how behind the curve they are haha

I remember a couple years ago when the newest version of the iPhone got copy/paste function, and they actually had TV commercials advertising this as a new amazing smart-phone feature never seen before.

I thought that was pretty funny because Blackberry has been doing copy/paste since before iPhone or Android even existed.

I can't wait until the first LTE iPhone comes out and it is advertised as a revolutionary new feature.

Lol. I just watched the IOS5 video... nomnom notification bar? >> crap.. and omg i saw the word widget in settings.. nope- nvm its just a scrolling notification in the exact replica of androids notification bar- BUT its 'taking an operating system that is years ahead of its time even further'... pft. everything in that ios 5 is old news. While we sit here and wait new stuff like virtual girlfriends or a sandwhich maker app, they wait for a notification bar so they dont have to close their app to get to the new message. ios? pos..:D

edit: and by virtual girlfriends i mean an app that actually manifests a physical person based on our personal paramaters.. bc i mean, how else can android be made better?

I was talking to a co-worker the other day and he was thinking of getting the new iPhone when it comes out.

I told him I would go with the Android OS and phones. He said he didn't like them. I then pointed out a couple of things to him.

1. Android phones can have their batteries switched at any time and you can even get a more powerful one.

2. Most NEW Androids come loaded with a minimum of 32GB MicroSD card. If I want to use a 64GB, I can just buy one and install it...might have to update software. Apple, no can do...your stuck with what you buy it with.

3. He said "Well, I like iTunes and have all my playlists created". I told him that I like iTunes also and have all my playlists created also. I also said I use Double Twist and import my playlists AND songs.

Needless to say.....he is getting the Bionic now!

They work flawlessly because they put the developers through heck to get the apps on market. I read of a company that went out of business because Apple drug their heels

Only twice?. I think most of us here wipe it 2 times a month with a new ROM.

I think the texts going to the wrong place isn't the phones fault, I think it is the backend. The UI is amazing....way better than MOTOBLUR. I do agree that the OTA did little to help, but, it did improve some things...in my case, the battery lasts a little longer.

My issue I have with Apple is that they are closed environment. I can't buy and iPhone from HTC or Samsung....there is no competition there so Apple is telling you what YOU can and cannot do. With the ANDROID enviroment, if something doesn't work right.....developers are on it immediately and have a new ROM within days. Yes, you can jailbreak the iPhone (I jailbroke my iTouch) and I got access to the folders.....WOW. There is probably more things I can do with it, but why bother!

Good luck with the iPhone....thanks for trying the TBolt. Try selling it online, you might get a few bucks for it. I do admit, I want an iPAD....because i am also a musician and I do like the apps (Morphwiz, BeBot) they have for it.

Lol. Everyone at my job has an Iphone on verizon, and they constantly are trying to get me to switch... Not gunna happen. Good job and saving your co-workers life... I tried to do the same here but fanbois will be fanbois.

What I wonder about is user fatigue with iOS. It hasn't fundamentally changed since the first iPhone came out. Sure, the app switching and now notifications have been added, but user interaction is exactly the same, forcing you to puddle jump from app to app. Android versions differ significantly in UI, the arguable exception being Gingerbread, which just added minor appearance tweaks (besides the under the hood stuff). I get that the iPhone 4's screen and processor were a leap from the 3GS, but I have to believe that some iPhone users will look at the new iPhone and think "this is pretty much the same thing I have used for years." With Android, there is freshness among versions and even OEM tweaks.

Your sentence reminds me of the line in "TRON: Legacy" when Brad asks the CEO of ENCOM "What's different in Flynn, I mean ENCOM OS 12?"....he replies "This year we put a 12 on the box".

You're giving apple fanboys way too much credit. Apple could slap their logo on a pile of crap and it'd still outsell anything else.

Lmao!!! iDogpoop! Way better than that stuff YOUR dog leaves in the yard! XD

Sent from my Liquid Thunderbread HTC Thunderbolt

First smartphone for me is this Thunderbolt and I've had zero problems with it. Love Android. After having it for a couple months I gathered up the courage to root it and install custom roms.

Haven't looked back since. Amazing, simply amazing.

A coworker was trying to decide between a Droid and an iPhone several months back and I told her exactly the above. She's a novice user who just needs the phone to work so I steered her to an iPhone. It's a very solid, if unspectacular, phone.

I like controlling what I own a little more so I went Droid and love it.
