Have you found a workaround to the 'select input method' in the notification tray?

Like most of us love Swiftkey, do you constantly having this 'Select input method' in the notification tray?
I understand it's a problem with Android and not Swiftkey.
Have you found a workaround to make it go away?

I don't have that issue. You might want to uninstall Swiftkey and then install it again. During the setup it should ask you to set Swiftkey as your default keyboard and then exit to finish the setup. I have used Swiftkey off and on for the last few years (on Android with ICS and now JB) and have never heard of or seen that issue, so it's not a problem with Android.

Love SwiftKey on mine. Using Flow to type this response. No issues here.

Oh I still love Swiftkey and use it all of the time. It's just that I had that same annoying problem on my Maxx with ICS and had hoped it'd go away with the new JB.
Guess not.
That's with a factory reset as well.

Doesn't the "Choose input method" show up in the Notification tray whenever the keyboard is in use no matter what keyboard you using? Or, am I misunderstanding your issue?

IT does...yes. But, once you CHOOSE it...it should go away.
But, you choose, it comes back..you choose, it comes back.
It's like 50 First Dates. lol

That's the way it's suppose to work. While you may not like it that way, it's not working incorrectly.

It's supposed to ask me 4-5 times a day to confirm which keyboard I'm going to use? Lol.

Then I don't understand your issue. Good luck with it.

The issue is WHY does the application keep asking?
I select input.
Then several hours later, it asks again.
I select.
It asks again as few hours later.
That's not typical or expected for an app to keep asking the same thing over and over.
But, it sounds more like an Android problem rather than a SwiftKey problem.

Is asking because they want it to ask every time you access the keyboard. I am not sure what the issue is, it's just a notification... a tiny little keyboard icon that does no harm.

I am trying out swiftkey right now, so it's nice to be able to switch back and forth, even in the same posting.

Yes. Yes it is.

Every Droid I've owned did this exact same thing. All of ours do.

But while we are on the subject, does anyone know how to get rid of that pesky 4G logo in the corner?

Go into your settings and unselect all methods that you do not want to use, so that SwiftKey is the only input method selected.

I have never had this problem, but then again, I always unselect all other keyboard options when I am setting Swiftkey up.

Not sure if this will work, but it is an option.

The only other thing I could think of is: each time the option pops up, do you select ALWAYS, or One Time (or whatever it says). Try selecting ALWAYS and see what happens. Just a thought

I just bought a Samsung galaxy s4 today... and that darn notification thing wont go away.. I select Samsung keyboard and then it still pops up... never goes away... no matter what it stays.. I unselect everything and it still pops up...

My maxx HD always shows a keyboard in the tray when I have it open. Never asks me anything. And I don't find it one bit annoying.

The keyboard symbol appears in the notifications area when these two conditions occur.

1: There is more than one option for keyboard input installed

2: The cursor/pointer is in a text input field.

I suspect it is a feature!
