Trying to unroot and for some reason when I attempt to zip the Unrevoked file in recovery I receive a message saying "Can't open/sdcard/unrevoked-forever-son.zip (bad)." i tried re-downloading it however it keeps giving the same message. Then i attempted running the RUU and i kept getting stuck with error 170.

I tried these two methods

http://forum.androidcentral.com/htc-evo-4g-rooting-roms-hacks/19278-how-unroot-return-stock.html

http://forum.androidcentral.com/htc...turn-stock-after-using-unrevoked-forever.html

Any help would be appreciated because my usb is faulty in my phone and I desparately need to get a replacement.

*Sorry for posting in the wrong section. Feel free to move it mods.
p.s. I used Unrevoked 3 to root.

fred,

Thank you. I switched sd cards and i was able to flash unrevoked to s-on. Now im attempting to flash the RUU zip from the phone. Its my only option due to inability to connect via USB. Ill let ya know how my unrooting goes. Hopefully after flashing the stock ruu i can swap it out up at sprint.

As mentioned in other threads, the phone will not read pc36img.zip. Are there any other zippable files that it will read? Any viable options? I am unable to connect to my pc. I am using an sd adapter to transfer files. Any help is appreciated thanks.

UPDATE:Mission success. I had to reformat the sd card to fat32

Make sure the file is truly named "PC36IMG.zip"

What part of the update does it get to or does it not even start it?

Well at first it would not read it at all. But when I reformatted it to fat32 it worked perfectly. i successfully unrooted but sprint said i had corrosion in the hdmi ports so they say i have to go through asurion.

lol yea i did and the second store wouldnt even open it up :( however when i got home i removed a considerable amount of gunk from it so hopefully third times the charm. i never dropped my phone in water but its humid where i live. I find the policy itself suspect. I understand how water can create so many potential issues but it seems they constructed the phone in such a easily corrosive design. Theres a little hole next to two ports with a uber thin design. Water is so ubiqutious, its in our atmosphere, sweat, not to mention the body is like 90% water lol.
If they care so much about corrosion how about making better phones and then maybe then your stock can go over $4.53 lol

ps sorry for venting.
