Having some problems

Any solutions for any of these?

- Screen increases brightness at random times for no noticeable reason - very annoying at night.

- Email accounts are very slow to sync - sometimes taking hours. Setting is for every 15 minutes.

- Not consistently getting other notifications either.

Thoughts?

Does the screen stay dark after you have touched it? if so maybe its a proximity sensor?
I would also clear the sense launcher cache, as well as accounts& sync cache and a hard boot.
