Having trouble connecting to wifi

I just bought my first Android phone (obviously the inspire) and have loved everything about it. I connected to my home wifi network and everything worked fine. I turned the phone on airplane mode then turned the airplane mode off, and now my phone will not connect with my home wifi. I've tried restarting my phone, forgetting my wifi and putting in the password again. It recognizes the wifi but when I go to connect it just says "obtaining IP Address from 2WIREXXXX" then says "Disconnected" and goes back to obtaining ip address.

Is there anyone out there that can please help me

Probably going to need more information. There are many reasons that could happen.
What are the router details? Are you able to connect to wifi in other places like starbucks, etc.,?
Are other devices (like a laptop) connecting to your router properly?

There could be strong microwave interference at your location.

my laptop is currently connected to the wifi no problem. Router details? I'm not sure, it's an ATT router.

I restarted the router and now it is working fine. Still not sure why it stopped working in the first place... :-\
