NFC. You can now use Google Wallet to tap-to-pay, or use NFC to transfer data between other NFC enabled devices.

That feature hasn't been enabled with Kitkat, it's always been there, but I think Kitkat might enable it after you update for some reason?

You can turn it off by going to settings -> ... more -> NFC
