Hi all
My company has a number of LG Optimus 4XHD P880 handsets which were flashed with P88020a-EUR-XXX software and we're having a quite a few headaches with this setup....
The problem at hand ? After a week or so of usage, several users will receive the message "Server error: Your Microsoft Exchange account has a fatal error. Please remove this account and add it again." within the stock email client.
2 current workarounds ? Remove the account and recreate as instructed or use a third-party Exchange client like Maildroid
We've talked to LG Australia and their service centre in Sydney however they were not helpful as the P880 is not an Australian model and it's not a 'hardware related incident'. My boss is now telling me to speak to the UK or US LG support line to try and get help!!
Before I go through the exercise of dealing with an overseas level 1 technical support to go through the hoops.. I was wondering if anyone on here can shed any light on the error message above.
Troubleshooting notes ? after weeks of troubleshooting (different mail accounts, different handsets and even different types of Android devices) we're almost at the point were we need to look at the verbose logging..
We're suspecting it's a bug in the LG's stock email client because there are some difference with other android devices in the office:
1. email account folders are not displayed in alphabetical order
2. email client is a device administrator and will force you to reauthenticate if you're in flight mode or sim gets d/c otherwise it will delete the exchange accounts
- We have turned on IIS logging on the Exchange server and this only indicated that the client does not get as far as reaching the mail server once the error occurs.
- We have tried some third-party system logging apps however these require ROOT access which is not feasible for our environment considering we have a handful of non-technical users with the problem who are interstate and over 150 units in the fleet across the company.
Does anyone have enough Exchange 03/LG email client expertise that can assist?
Does anyone have enough LG Android expertise for the Hidden diagnostic/developer menu? I have found a Smart Log Browser utility in the hidden menu however lack the expertise to interpret the raw data.
Feel free to ask if you need more info, I appreciate any help
