Hello .

My first post ion here , so apologies if this has been asked before .

I am looking for a good set of earphones for my Nexus 7 / S3 , I can spend up to ?50.00 but I need a pair that has a Volume control that works .

Thanks in advance .

Jasper .

If you want controls on the headset that work, you're going to have to look at a bluetooth headset. In-line audio controls for headphones use a microphone input built into the headphone jack. The Nexus 7 doesn't have that, so no wired in-line controls will work.

So terribly wrong. There have been tons of headphones and earphones for decades that just use an inline potentiometer (slide switch) to LIMIT volume. You max volume on your device and then cut it back with the inline control. They aren't high fidelity, but neither is the price range of the OP.

I use a set of Koss headphones that Radio Shack sold years ago. In line volume control and they work fine. I also believe YAYTech' post is wrong.

It depends on the style of volume control. Many of the nicer modern headphones are as I described - they're made to control the device's volume setting, which is done utilizing the microphone input built into the headphone jack on many devices (iPods, etc). This same style can also do things like play/pause functions. This style of volume control will not work on the Nexus 7.

I forgot about the other style, which should work, since its volume function is separate from the device, and you're right, it should work fine.
