I love me some great head phones. I had a nice pair of skull candy over ear buds. With the little hook that holds the bud in place. They were great but the wire separated from the jack. At beat buy tonight i slipped on the big dj style beats by dre and looooved them. However $250 for headphones is about $150 too much and thats stretching it..

Anyone have any recommendations knowing i hate stand alone ear buds and might like something similar to the beats by dre monsters.

Thanks!

Monster also makes some called iSport. Very nice and in the $100-$120 range. SkullCandy FMJ's also great. Both of these have a mic as well. Never used them but heard great things about the Bose earbuds.

I'm pretty sure that all SkullCandy headsets are guaranteed for life. You should send yours in for replacement.

I refuse to spend more than 25.00 on a set. I use a see from Sony that wrap arount your ear, sound quality is decent enough for my use.

Amazon.com: Sony MDRNC7/BLK Noise Canceling On-Ear headphones (Black): Electronics

I got burned on these. The sound quality coming from them from using it on my phone to ipod to computer was not satisfactory for me. I was extremely disappointed. I have tried the Sony headphones that were extra bass and like them a lot but it seems they are sold out from Best Buy and other places. It was a good price of 79.99 and I can only find them for 129.99+.

Sony MDR ex310lps. Best earbuds under $100. Or try the klipsch image s4's, they have an android version too. I own both sets and can say without a doubt these earbuds are amazing. both run about 79.99 at bestbuy but you may find them cheaper.

If you don't mind me asking, whats your spending limit?

No, you don't. You love you some fashionable head phones. If you like great headphones you would skip the overpriced skull candy or beats and go sennheiser. If you like the look of the beats that's fine, as long as you realize you are paying for the look not for sound quality.

My SkullCandy FMJ's (maybe $75 ??) sound great, have a mic and have been replaced for free twice from me yanking an earpiece off (or something similar that is bound to happen to earbuds if you don't loose them). I'd call that quite economical.

Yea the fmjs are probably the best skull candy makes. There are better options for less money that sound 10xs better and will last a whole lot longer

Just curious, why do you hate ear buds? I only ask because a poorly fitted ear bud falls out, hurts your ear, etc., and can lead to people saying they hate ear buds, but a custom fit high quality IEM ear bud is like sex in your ear.

I use the VMODA Bass Freq on my Gnex. Ive had them for awhile now. Even though they are inexpensive (usually 25-40$ depending on sales) they offer great sound and good durability. Would recommend them highly if you don't want to spend 100+ on a new set of ear buds.

I'm using the klipsch S4A's. They sound great and are made specifically for Android phones and have a app to change the function of the button on the mic. They were $100 shipped directly from Klipsch.

I currently have a pair of Ultimate Ears and I really like them. I'd also take a look at Sennheiser and Klipsch. To make things better, order some Comply Foam Tips for whatever you choose. They make wearing them much more comfortable. Really, though, it just comes down to personal preference.

Check out Grado if you are still shopping around. They make an in-ear monitor as well as some great open air headphones. Some critique Grado as having a sound you either love or hate but if you have the time I'd definitely recommend you research their models. Both the in-ear and the open air start less than $80. I had a pair of SR60i's that lasted me 3+ years and sounded better than any headphone under $300.00.

Those are my standard home set of cans. Had them for 2 years now and absolutely love them still. Grado house sound ftw.

I have heard people not liking the cheaper in ears though, fwiw.

Deff with Whiteshadow001 on the S4 buds. For the price they can't really be beat.

well I wouldnt say that. Sony has a pair the same price the mdr-ex310lp's. I just picked these up and they sound a little better IMO. They sound alot clearer than the S4's with about the same bass response. I use the sony's alot more than the S4's now. Plus I just got a headphone amp and it makes all the difference.

Really? I'll have to check them out. My biggest complaint is always what suffers when you add in better bass response.
