Hi everyone, I got a Galaxy s24 ultra and Google Assistant won't work with my headphones, with any. My friend has the same phone and same thing happens. Samsung "Customer Experts" been for literally two hours try to find a solution remotely via Smart tutor without luck.

When you connect a headphones you should see this prompt come up so then the headphones will appear under devices on Google Assistant, it's the only way for them to work, if they are added to devices via that way. But on the galaxy s24 ultra it just won't happen....

Normally it should show this (from another phone)

And then you would see this

The first message its just not happening I tried everything and so did the Samsung technician remotely.

So devices is empty and they don't work with assistant.

Add device is to add other things, it's not for this.

I wish someone could come up with a solution, I really need them to work. Its not the headphones, I tried with different ones. And they work with my older phone (that runs the same OS etc).

Thank you!

Hi, I tried different ones, the official Samsung wired ones (AKG?), galaxy buds, and another pair of cheaper Bluetooth one. It really doesn't show up the configuration notification on this phone, my fríend has the same one and I tried with hers as well.
Thanks

Ok looking over this make sure Google assistant is set to your assistant, open Google app >Google assistant tap then scroll down to digital assistant from Google tap is Gemi or Google's assistant selected there?

Mine works with Bluetooth and Samsung AKG USB c headphone

Yes, Google assistant is the selected one (not gemini) Trust me I tried everything. So did the Samsung customer support remotely, she tried for two hours.
Did you get that notification the first time you plugged the headphones to configure them to use with the assistant? I need that to happen and it won't. I even factory reseted lol

When I plugged the headphones no notifications and this first time I tried them .

Next uninstall the update to the Google app and recheck settings with assistant don't let the play store automatically update it see if everything ok on previous version.

To do that long press Google app>tap info>upper right corner tap and select uninstall update

Nothing :/ the woman from Samsung had tried this as well remotely, but I wanted to give it another shot.
Can you check if your wire headphones appear under Devices in assistant? If they work they should, and that's what's not happening to me.... Thank you man 🙏🙏

My friend has another s24 ultra and it doesn't work on hers either haha. Yes it works perfectly for music and calls, the headphones are brand new and I tried with other ones as well.
Yes, I tried to use it with the switch that's what I always used to do with my other phone, when I had the phone on my pocket I would press and hold the button for a sec until it rings like a bell sound and I would tell the assistant whatver I needed. It doesn't work with this :/ I just tried clearing the data of the USB-c from apps and nothing. The person from Samsung did thst as well yesterday, she tried so hard she spent 2 hours via smart tutor. It's a fuc**ng mistery, but I hate having to take out the phone of my pocket at the gym or when walking because I'm not able to use the assistant, I was very used to it.
I think until I shows under Devices on Google Assistant settings it's not going to work, I'm sure you see wired headphones with your AKG right? It would be stupid to return this phone because of this, I won't, but it's not the same, and I had a way worse phone before (an A72) and I miss it, well this should work but I don't think it's going to happen. Thank you so much for trying to help.

As soon as I plug it it shows headphones icon in status bar then disappear same with checking software for it
I will try in safe mode.
I see the headphones icon appearing for a second just 1 out of 20 times I plug them.

So you don't have them under devices? And if your screen is off and you press the button for two or three seconds do you hear the bell sound? For you to talk to the assistant? Thanks
Oh I never got the checking software message
